SHABBAT SERVICE JANUARY 21
PARSHA SHEMOT

SERVICE LEADER: Neiel Baronberg

TORAH READERS: David & Debra Flitter

IF YOUR NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION WAS TO GET MORE INVOLVED WITH YOUR COMMUNITITES, WE'VE GOT THE PERFECT SOLUTION!

KOHELET ANNUAL MEETING
Sunday, January 29, 5:30 - 7:30

Come to Kohelet's Annual Meeting on Sunday evening, January 29th. Enjoy the camaraderie of friends old and new over pizza and conversation (and Calendar Sign-ups -- yay!!) from 5:30 - 6:15. Catch up, schmooze, and sign up for that fun holiday, D'var Torah, or wild and crazy activity that you've always wanted to do.

Meeting will start promptly at 6:15, when we'll have the opportunity to further connect with our community, briefly discuss several things Kohelet, and meet our new Board members and co-Presidents. And if that's not enough, there will be some surprise entertainment (where we'll debut our Kohelet Song!! Not every congregation has one, and certainly not one this wacky, we promise.)

Don't miss this once-a-year opportunity to come together as a community and hear about some exciting ideas for the future.

SAVE THE DATE JAN 28

Mitch Siegel is going to read from the Torah on January 28th. While it isn't really his bar mitzvah because he read the same Rosh Chodesh Torah portion for his service in Israel, Mitch and his family want to do a Kohelet reading, too.
Dan and Aviva will read from the Torah as well, and the Siegels will sponsor a special lunch for everyone!

VIDEO RECOMMENDATION FROM JOAN BARONBERG
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Glrq6G-_L6w
Joan Baronberg recommends the following YouTube video from Rabbi Jonathan Sacks whom many of us reference for his weekly parsha and other discussions. It is timely and uplifting and puts into historical and philosophical context the upcoming transition of power and the hope and expectation for the Inaugural address. In this brief study you will hear Rabbi Sacks speak of the American and Covenantal commitment.
